R: Porto Seguro and Trancoso are about 80 km apart via the longer, fully paved route. Via the shorter route—which includes a ferry crossing between Porto Seguro and Arraial d’Ajuda, as well as about 20 km of unpaved road—the distance is approximately 50 km.

Which route does Bahia Transfer use?

R: The longer route is used for 90% of transfers to and from the location. Although the ferry crossing takes only 10 minutes, the wait in the boarding line can exceed two hours during peak season. During the off-season, however, the dirt road becomes extremely difficult to navigate due to regional rains. The longer route allows for a more reliable estimate of transfer time.

What is the condition of the road?

R: The route consisting entirely of paved roads utilizes two highways: BR-367 (federal) and BA-001 (state). These are heavily traveled routes in southern Bahia that feature some sections in poor condition. Maintenance work is typically carried out by the responsible agencies in the months leading up to the peak tourist season.

Is the transfer service available 24 hours a day?

R: Yes. There are no flights arriving in Porto Seguro during the early hours of the morning, but transfers can be arranged for any flight arrival time. Our operator will be waiting for passengers in the arrivals hall.

How do I identify the operator at Porto Seguro Airport?

R: The operator tracks your flight from its point of origin and meets you in the arrivals hall holding a sign with the lead passenger’s name.

What happens if the flight is delayed?

R: If the flight number remains the same, there is no need to worry. Since the operator tracks the flight, they will see the updated estimated arrival time in the tracking app. However, if the flight changes or is cancelled, you will need to contact us to let us know. We will then put the scheduled transfer on hold and reschedule it for the new time set by the airline.

We used Bahia Transfer to organize our entire journey from the airport, including taxi transfers, the ferry crossing, and the bus transfer from Bom Despacho to Itacaré – and everything worked perfectly, both on the way there and on the way back. We paid for the full service from Salvador Airport to Morro de São Paulo. We got off to a bad start, with a 40-minute delay. On the way back, we were informed that the service would be changed to the land-sea service (a cheaper service), which would increase the transfer time. Additionally, we were charged a fee for using the dock (supposedly, you pay for the full service, including taxes). To top it all off, the new service was delayed by five hours, compared to the 2.5-hour transfer we had booked. I do not recommend this service at all; the operator's responses were also unsatisfactory.
