AN IMMERSION IN AFRO-BRAZILIAN CULTURE:
The tour is suggested to those who have interest and desire to immerse themselves a little more in the culture and religion of African origin. We start the tour visiting a percussion workshop, where we will meet the master of the rhythms who will introduce us to the famous atabaques: “run, rumpi and le” that are usually played in candomblé ceremonies. We will experience the drumming, in atabaques and tambourines, packed by African and Brazilian rhythms and we will learn to play lightly the rhythm of the energizing drums that enchants visitors from all over the world in a catching sound. Shortly after, we will head towards the capoeira master, where we will exchange information and learn a little about this fight that brought the slaves and that today represents so much the local culture all over the world. Then we will enter the dance to the sound of berimbau. In this class, you will learn some of the main movements used in the most traditional cultural manifestation of Bahia, Capoeira. It will be a time of learning and a lot of relaxation.
